River grass
The varieties of river grass look different, depending on light, currents, the water levels and the seasons. The past few years I haven’t tired of watching the grass.

Painted turtle
This turtle, at least I think it’s this turtle, spent summer afternoons lying in the water floating on the river.

Last days
A weedy sunflower, fading away in the high grass beside the river. Thanks are owed to some passing bird.

Old factory wall
The ruins of an old factory on the mill river, still visible. The area also had a fish ladder which was very active for decades.

Sweet fish
Write about your most epic baking or cooking fail. Many years ago a printed recipe called for a 1/4 cup sugar in baked fish. I should have known better.
